The Japanese Spitz is not currently recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) but they are recognized by the ANKC, CKC, FCI, KC(GB), and KUSA. It is said that it’s only a matter of time before this unique breed will become accepted by AKC. Until then, the Japanese Spitz is content being recognized for its extreme intelligence, delightful personality, and as an overall perfect companion pet.
