Black and Tan Coonhound Puppy Care

As the owner of a beautiful Black and Tan Coonhound, I can verify that most of what is put forward about their temperament and intelligence is completely accurate. With a stern leader and proper training, the Black and Tan is very obedient and yet as they get older, they are intelligent enough to learn from past experiences. They are very quick to catch on to what they are being taught but they use that intelligence to be a bit sneaky. They are quite active but when they sleep, they are out like a light.

Dog Breed Facts: Japanese Spitz

The Japanese Spitz is not currently recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) but they are recognized by the ANKC, CKC, FCI, KC(GB), and KUSA. It is said that it’s only a matter of time before this unique breed will become accepted by AKC. Until then, the Japanese Spitz is content being recognized for its extreme intelligence, delightful personality, and as an overall perfect companion pet.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher Bird Facts

Although the conservation status on these birds is labeled "least concern", the numbers of Scissor-tailed Flycatchers have been declining especially in Oklahoma. Their numbers are still steady in Texas but they are quite rare to see in Florida where some migrate during the winter.

Java Chicken Facts

Javas are dual-suited for both backyard keeping or for larger farms. They do endure confinement but are better suited as free-range chickens. The hens are superb brooders and are excellent mothers to their chicks. Their eggs are generally medium sized and brown in color. Their temperament is typically docile and they are good foragers. They also tolerate fairly cold weather but do require extra winter care like most other breeds.

Dutch Bantam Facts

The Dutch bantam is a good breed for exhibition purposes and for providing a generous supply of small eggs. They are easily found for sale with chicks running about $3 to $4 each and adults averaging $15 or more depending upon if the bird is pet or show quality.
