Take the time to allow your hedgehog to explore its environment outside of the cage. Thoroughly proof the area that the hedgehog is allowed to roam as these small animals can get into some very small spaces. If a cage has enough space, is properly cleaned on a regular basis, and has plenty of objects to get him stimulated, your hedgehog can live quite comfortably in their cage. However, don't forget to spend quality time with your hedgehog and allow some free time outside of the cage as often as possible.
