The Marsh rabbit derives its name from the area that it roams, the marsh and swamp lands of the Southeastern United States. This unique species can be found in southeastern Virginia and further south throughout Georgia and Florida. The Marsh rabbit prefers freshwater and will inhabit near swamps, lakes and waterways.
